Meet the Team

Josh Hykes

President & Principal Agent

I grew up in the tri-state area and have been here all of my life. I have been a resident of Falling Waters WV since 2004 & graduated from Middletown High School (Middletown, MD) in 1998 & then received my bachelor of science from Mt. St. Mary’s College in 2002. In May of 2001, I decided to join my father’s insurance agency. I learned the business from the ground up. I started out answering phones, filing, & doing the administrative work in the office. After a few months, I received my property & casualty license to sell & service insurance in August of 2001.  Shortly thereafter I received my life & health license in February of 2002.  I became an agent, selling & servicing a range of products, specializing in commercial insurance, to clients located in Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, & the District of Columbia. My business philosophy aligns with one of the insurance carriers I represent, Erie Insurance. Erie’s founding principle states: “To provide our Policyholders with as near perfect protection, as near perfect service as is humanly possible, and to do so at the lowest possible cost.”  I enjoy helping people understand their insurance coverages, helping people select the coverages and limits that are right for them, & most importantly, being an insurance advisor & not just an insurance salesman.

I enjoy spending time with my family. Having 4 kids, they keep me busy, but I enjoy being able to be a part of their lives. I also enjoy & am passionate about giving back to the community that helps support my business. Volunteerism & kindness are very important to me and I try to volunteer & do kind acts as much as possible. I also enjoy playing golf, watching & rooting for our local professional sports teams, reading, & playing games. And if you need a laugh, make sure to search the #dadjokes on Facebook where you’ll find my joke of the day that you’re surely going to groan at :). I enjoy spending time with my family & they love to be on the go. We are always looking for activities to do, whether it be roller skating, bowling, hiking, bouncing on trampolines, or anything outdoors, you’ll find us on the go on the weekends. We also make a point to attend our church, Faith Christian Fellowship every Sunday as well. I enjoy giving back to our community & am very passionate about volunteerism & kindness. I have started the Watch D.O.G.S. program (Dads Of Great Students) in our local schools, getting Dads to volunteer at least one day in the schools to show kids that Dads think education is important, it helps with anti-bullying, & gives the kids an added sense of security as well. With our kindness initiative, we try to encourage kind acts & our goal is to get people to do one more kind act than what they’ve done in the past. If we show kindness to others, our hope is it will spread to our future generations & make our world a kinder place. I am very involved in our local schools & volunteer as much as I can.  I run a Facebook group which we use to thank teachers & staff & give them goodie bags & tokens of our appreciation to show them we are thankful for what they do & to remind them that we care.

Robyn Fulton

Originally, I am from Berkeley Springs, WV which is where I grew up and went to high school. Then went to college at Potomac State College in Keyser, WV. I lived in Keyser for a few years before moving to Maryland. I am licensed in Property, Casualty, Life, and Health Insurance.

On a personal level, I love any and all types of animals. This means when I’m not working you can find me usually spending my weekends at home with my husband, our dog, four cats, and rabbit.

Samantha Baker

Producing agent

I was born in Akron, Ohio but raised in Frederick, Maryland. I’ve studied Health Service Administration for the United States Air Force. My experience with insurance has only been over a year but I am very eager to continue and expand my knowledge of the insurance industry. The thing that excites me the most about the work I do is feeling that I am helping someone and making a difference.

I enjoy being able to spend quality time with my family. Something people may not know about me is that I currently serve in the Air National Guard for West Virginia, and have been for the past five years. I will continue to serve until I can no longer do so. My favorite way to spend on the weekends is to spend time with my sons and husband.

Cher Harsh

Customer Service

I previously worked in the State Farm office for six years. I love to help people in any way possible. From simply explaining their insurance coverages to investigating a billing issue or other concern.

I grew up in Smithsburg, MD. I am a homebody. I like to curl up with a book & one of my pets and read a good book or watch a movie. I also spend some Saturdays with my Best friend, we have been friends for about 40 years, and Sundays, I go to church and spend time with my parents. My grandchildren are very busy, but I try to see them as often as possible.

I also love my animals. I tend to call it a “Harsh Zoo.” We never have less than 3 pets at any given time. My love for animals doesn’t stop there! I love sea turtles. I collect any items related to turtles, sea turtles, or turtles. I actually have 3 adopted turtles thru different organizations to save Sea turtles. I hope to live somewhere one day where I can volunteer at a Sea turtle rescue.

I’m passionate about helping others in my community. I like to support Breast Cancer Awareness of Cumberland Valley and Alzheimer’s organizations.
